    $110m worth of contracts awarded to Monadelphous (PlantMiner)

    Monadelphous has announced that it has recently been awarded multiple new and extension contracts with a total value of $110 million for construction and maintenance works in the resources and energy industries.

    Majority of the contracts have been awarded by BHP for works at its Western Australia operations, including:

    A contract to provide upgrades to existing conveyor equipment, power switching and stackers at the Mining C iron ore mine. Works under this contract is due for completion in the third quarter of 2020.

    A contract to provide associated services to the demolition and rehabilitation of a number of end-of-life facilities at Nelson Point in Port Hedland. Works are expected to begin this month and is due for completion by the third quarter of 2020.

    A 12-month contract extension with Nickel West for the provision of maintenanceshutdowns and off-site repair services at the Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter.

    A contract with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (Australia) for the construction of a reclaimer as well as two stackers at BHP’s South Flank Project in the Pilbara. Works are expected to support about 70 jobs and are due for completion by the first quarter of 2021.

    In addition, Monadelphous has also secured a three-year contract to provide general mechanical and maintenance services as part of Incitec Pivot’s scheduled turnarounds at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Queensland.
