BLJ has been engaged in a large-scale industrial project in Newcastle for the past eight weeks, providing specialised onsite machining services to support infrastructure and plant operations. One of the critical tasks within this project involved precision machining on a Tail Gas Preheater to restore its sealing integrity. 

To ensure optimal gasket sealing, BLJ executed a meticulous machining process, which included: 

• Gasket Face Pad Welding: Restoring material integrity by pad welding the gasket face.
• Flange Facing Setup: Deploying our 12-60” flange facing machine to perform precision machining on the tube sheet.
• Machining Process: Carefully machining the tube sheet channel gasket sealing face using 304L stainless steel material.
• Final Dimensions: Achieving an outer diameter (OD) of 1370mm, meeting strict industrial tolerances. 

By leveraging our advanced onsite machining expertise, BLJ successfully restored the gasket sealing surface of the Tail Gas Preheater. This process ensured the component met required operational standards, minimising potential downtime and enhancing the plant’s reliability. The precision machining performed on-site provided an efficient and cost-effective solution, reducing the need for extensive disassembly or component replacement.
